Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at [email protected] if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What kind of wildlife will we see?

Native to the area you may see river otters, copper head snakes, raccoons, skunk and opossums.  Keeping your trash picked up and food put away will help deter the wildlife from disturbing your camp site. There are also bees, mosquitos and ticks; we suggest bringing bug spray during your stay.

Can we cross the creek?

No, crossing the creek is considered trespassing as that is not our property.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we allow pets. They must be on a leash at all times, and we ask that you clean up after them. Pets may not be left unattended. If you are leaving the campground they must go with you.

Are you an extended stay campground?

No, unfortunately we do not allow extended stay. Camping is permitted for up to 1 week.

I have a camper but don't need electric and water hook up, What do I pay?

If you are in a site with water and electricity, that's the rate you pay whether you use the utilities or not.

Do you take reservations?

Yes, we take reservations over the phone and prepayment is NOT required. Yes, you can make a reservation and prepay with a credit card, however there is an additional charge for card transactions. Please note we do not offer refunds. If for some reason you shorten your stay or cannot make it, no refunds are offered.

Can I fish during my stay?

Yes, we allow fishing in the creek which has trout, bass and catfish. Per Virginia law you are required to have a fishing license. Fishing without a license could result in a fine from Virginia Fish and Wildlife.

I have an Rv what's the maximum length you allow?

We allow any shape or size up to 24 feet.

What is the maximum amperage you support in a water and electric site?

Due to the campgrounds age we currently only have 20amp outlets. If you have a 30amp plug please note our electric (20amp) will not support multiple appliances being run at the same time. This causes the circuit breaker to trip.

What are your quiet hours?

Our quiet hours are from 11pm to 8am daily. If you become disruptive to other campers, you will be asked to correct your behavior twice. If you do not correct your behavior, you will be asked to leave and there will be no refund.

Are you near a major road way?

Yes, Route 340 passes over the campground. Automobile noise can be heard at all hours. Please note we do have several primitive tent sites that are further away from the road noise.

What do I do with my Trash?

We have a dumpster on site that you can dispose of your trash. Please be sure to leave the site as you found it.

Is there cell serivce?

Yes, there is cell service at the campground. Verizon is the only network that we know of that seems to not work at the campground.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, we do have free Wi-Fi available throughout the campground.

How safe is the campground?

We recently installed new security cameras for your safety and ours. All comings and goings are now under 24/7 surveillance. We want you to feel as safe as possible.

Do you allow late check-ins?

Preferred check-in is from 4pm to 8pm, however if you will be arriving late, please be sure to let the staff know so they can assist you upon your arrival. We also have a ring doorbell on the office for last minute needs.

Can I bring my own firewood?

We do not allow firewood from outside sources as a way to save our trees. There are diseases and insects that can destroy an entire forest just as much as a runaway campfire.

Do you offer refunds?

No, all purchases are final and nonrefundable.

Can I swim on your property if i am not a camper?

No, we no longer offer day use passes to non-campers. In order to access our swimming hole's, you have to be a camper with us.

What is the max number of campers allowed in each site?

The max amount of people per site is 5, with the exception of larger family's sharing the same tent (with minor children).

What if we want to check out after noon?

We do allow late check out with a late check out fee.

Can I check-in early?

We do allow early check-in starting at 1pm with an early check-in fee.
